Synopsis: |
In the discussions before and after the introduction of the NHS and Community Care Act 1990, one particular area of concern was the potential difficulty of access to specialist services because of financial and managerial constraints. Services seen to be particularly at risk were neonatal intensive care, cystic fibrosis, childhood leukaemia, and coronary artery bypass surgery and coronary bypass grafting. The working parties set up by the CSAG have now completed their investigations into these services and this publication contains a summary of each of the four reports. |
