Description: |
Collection of six feature dramas based on true stories. In 'A Child's Cry' (1986), a social worker (Lindsay Wagner) starts working with a shy, withdrawn six-year-old (Taliesin Jaffe) whom she believes is the victim of sexual abuse. In 'When Innocence Is Lost' (1997), when Erica French (Keri Russell) decides to keep the baby she conceived in high school, she never dreamed that one day she would be fighting for custody against the child's father, Scott Stone (Vince Corazza). In 'Taming Andrew' (2000), Gail Carson's (Park Overall) life is thrown upside down when her ten-year-old son, Andrew (Seth Adkins), returns home after spending five years on the run with her ex-husband. Things become even harder when she discovers that Andrew endured horrific abuse and neglect at the hands of his father. Andrew now bears little resemblance to the son Gail used to love and she has a battle on her hands trying to get him to adjust to normal life. In 'Untamed Love' (1994), when a six-year-old girl, Caitlin (Ashlee Lauren), is accused of setting fire to a small boy, it seems like the latest development in a pattern of bad behaviour. However, instead of being sent to a mental hospital, she is sent to an education class run by Maggie (Cathy Lee Crosby). The teacher and pupil strike up a good relationship and slowly the harsh reality of Caitlin's background is realised. In 'Stranger in the Family' (1991), a teenager (Neil Patrick Harris) loses his memory following a car accident and is eventually diagnosed as having permanent amnesia. Now he and his mother (Teri Garr) must try and rebuild his shattered life one step at a time. Finally, in 'Color Me Perfect' (1996), Dina Blake (Michele Lee) is a mentally challenged, middle-aged woman who plays with the kids in the park and lives under the care of her nephew. When two medical researchers offer Dina a chance to take an experimental, intelligence-enhancing drug, her life is turned upside down. |
