Synopsis: Studying Narrative is a collection of resources for teaching about aspects of narrative. Sections include: narrative voice, narrative viewpoint, structure, themes, character, genre, dialogue, experiments in narrative. There is an introductory section on 'What is narrative?' and a separate section on narrative poetry. The publication also includes concept cards which can be used in a range of different ways. Activities focus on popular texts in the new 2008 specifications, including: The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations, Wide Sargasso Sea, Jane Eyre, Dubliners, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Wuthering Heights, In Cold Blood, The Color Purple, God of Small Things, Small Island and many more.
