This text on physics has been written for students in the senior secondary classes within the Ghanaian education system. It is specially designed to provide guidance for school and private students leading to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Senior Secondary schools as well as the GCE examinations. The book is essentially designed to meet the requirements of the senior secondary school syllabus in physics. Part One is for the use of students during the first senior secondary school physics course; Part Two and Three cover year two and year three respectively. Features include: close correspondance to the order in which the teaching syllabus for the senior secondary school chemistry course has been organized; each chapter beginning with a list of learning objectives so that the student knows what goals are expected to be achieved by careful study of the chapter; salient ideas are either boxed or bulleted; activity orientated; end-of-chapter multiple choice and essay type questions entitled "self check"; revision question at the end of the book; and answers to multiple choice and numerical problems in the "self check" sections.The book is designed to suit the spiral approach. Some of the topics in Part One will be found in Parts Two and Three treated in depth and covering broader area than Part One. |
