TV production of the stage play by Harold Pinter, in which four people's lives are turned upside down by the suspicion of infidelity. When Harry Kane (Laurence Olivier) receives a phone call in the middle of the night, it sets in motion a chain of events fuelling mutual suspicion and jealousy. As the suspicion deepens, the issue of 'truth', although an overiding factor in resolving the issues, becomes increasingly difficult to establish. Also stars Alan Bates, Helen Mirren, and Malcolm McDowall. |
