Kids can be so cruel, and they are in this double bill of family comedy. In 'Are We There Yet?' (2005), trying to get on good terms with divorced mother Suzanne (Nia Long), playboy Nick Persons (Ice Cube) offers to drive her kids across country to meet her when she's stuck on New Year's Eve. Having hated all of their mother's previous dates, the children set out to make it the journey from hell for Nick. In 'Are We Done Yet?' (2007), Nick and Suzanne are now married and have decided to leave the rat race for a quieter life in the suburbs. But when they hire a local contractor (John C. McGinley) their dreams of domestic bliss go up in smoke. |
