While Dr. Tom Gilder (Michael French) is making peace with his father, Arthur (James Bolam), in New Zealand Dr. Donald Newman (Richard Wilson) and Deborah (Jenna Russell) are left running the Ormston Memorial Hospital. A new face arrives in Ormston in the form of Dr. Nick Logan (Oliver Milburn) who is young, good looking and sets feathers flying from the outset, when he crashes into the pub on his motorbike.
