| Description: |
A double bill of films from Korean director Park Chan-Wook. In 'JSA - Joint Security Area' (2000), after a confused incident at night when both sides open fire at each other, one North Korean soldier is killed and a South Korean soldier is injured on the volatile Demilitarised Zone between the South and the communist North of the country. Hoping to avoid an escalation in the crisis, both sides agree to allow neutral Korean-Swiss investigator Sophie Jean (Li Yeong-Ae) to look into the case. When she discovers discrepancies in the amount of bullets fired from each soldier's gun that night, and when witnesses try to commit suicide rather than talk to her, Jean realises that the truth behind the shooting is much more explosive than the official version of events. In 'I'm a Cyborg' (2006), Young-goon (Su-jeong Lim ) is admitted to a mental institution and, believing she's a cyborg, charges herself with a transistor radio. Il-sun Park (Rain), a fellow inmate, steals the other inmates' personality traits and believes he is fading and will one day turn into a dot. When Young-goon refuses to eat, Il-sun decides it's his job to get her on her feet again. |
