Description: |
Triple bill featuring three popular animated movies. In 'Robots' (2005), Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) is a small-town robot who has a gift for inventing things. Armed with his unique talent for inventing he embarks on a journey to Robot City to meet his idol, the majestic inventor Bigweld (Mel Brooks), an iconic but illusive figure. In Robot City, Rodney befriends the Rusties, a ragtag group of street-smart bots who know the ropes. One of them, Fender (Robin Williams), immediately becomes Rodney's best friend. They take him in, and for now, at least, Rodney has a home in Robot City. Rodney and his new friends set off to carry out his plans to find Bigweld. In 'Ice Age' (2002), at the dawn of the great ice age, a group of three animals embark upon an epic journey. Sid the sloth, Manfred the mammal, and Diego the sabre-toothed tiger team up to help return a human baby to its father, and must risk life and limb as they traverse boiling lava pits and travel through dangerous ice caves to complete their mission. Along the way they also meet Scrat, a squirrel-rat determined to plant an acorn in a glacier. Features the voices of John Leguizamo, Denis Leary and Jack Black. Finally, in 'Chicken Run' (2000), 'Wallace and Gromit', life on Tweedy's Chicken Farm is far from pleasant for the inmates; they are badly treated by Mr Tweedy and his domineering wife, and kept alive only as long as they keep producing eggs. Ginger the hen's (voiced by Julia Sawalha) various attempts at escape have failed due to the lethargy and downright incompetence of her fellow prisoners, but when Rocky (Mel Gibson) - the famous Flying Rooster - crash lands in the farm, she sees the chance she has been waiting for: Rocky can teach everyone how to fly, and they can stage a mass break-out! However, the braggardly Rocky is not all that he seems; can he really help Ginger and the others find freedom before Mrs Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) hatches her fowl plan to turn them all into chicken pies? |
