Description: |
Three films starring Bruce Willis. In 'Mercury Rising' (1998), Simon (Miko Hughes), an autistic nine-year-old, has inadvertently cracked the US government's new secret code, making him a prime security threat in the eyes of the FBI. With Programme Chief Nick Kudrow (Alec Baldwin) ordering his elimination, Simon's only hope of survival comes from renegade agent Art Jeffries (Willis), who realises they must make full use of each other's special skills to stay one step ahead of their pursuers. Willis stars as the eponymous antihero in 'The Jackal' (1997), an assassin with a thousand faces whose latest prey is a top US government official. In an attempt to prevent the killing, the FBI's Deputy Director (Sidney Poitier) sets a thief to catch a thief, releasing imprisoned underground operative Declan Mulqueen (Richard Gere) to bring the Jackal to book. In 'Striking Distance' (1993), Tom Hardy (Willis) is demoted from homicide detective to River Rescue Patrol after challenging his superiors. Hardy believes that his father was murdered by a serial killer, not the man the police convicted. When the killer begins operating again two years later, Hardy sets out to track him down - much to the disapproval of his uncle (Dennis Farina), who is now Chief of Homicide. |
