| Description: |
During the Nazi occupation of France, young teen Jean is transfered to a Catholic boarding school. Classmate Julien strikes up a friendship with him, and discovers that Jean is in fact Jewish, one of three boys being offered a safe haven by the headmaster. However, when a Gestapo officer arrives at the school, it seems that their cover has been blown. Louis Malle's semi-autobiographical wartime drama won the Best Film prize at Venice in 1987. |
