Steven Soderbergh directs this drama starring porn star Sasha Grey as highly ambitious upmarket Manhattan call girl Chelsea, who charges $2,000 an hour for her 'girlfriend experience', a simulation of the complete romantic experience as opposed to a purely sexual encounter. The film chronicles several days in Chelsea's life against the backdrop of the run-up to the 2008 presidential elections as she goes about her business, looks for ways to expand her clientele and deals with her foundering relationship with boyfriend Chris (Chris Santos). Meanwhile, new out-of-town client Philip (Philip Eytan) appears to hold the promise of a more meaningful alliance.
