| Description: |
Brazilian revenge thriller. In the 1970s, a tempestuous romance leaves bad blood between two rival families. Thirty years later, when one of the family patriarchs and his two sons are brutally gunned down, his widow Filomena (Marieta Severo) enlists the help of her three daughters, all of whom are called Maria, to track down three deadly assassins so she can hire them to avenge their murders. The eldest Maria (Julia Lemmertz) goes off in search of a ruthless gunman who hasn't spoken to a woman since the death of his mother. The second oldest Maria (Maria Luisa Mendonca) searches for a reclusive, knife-throwing cop, while the youngest (Luiza Mariani) goes off in search of the notorious killer Jesuino Cruz (Wagner Moura), only to find that he is in prison. When their quests take them in strange and unexpected directions, it seems that fate has a different plan for the three Marias. |
