Synopsis: |
Designed for creative use in the classroom, this dramatically boxed resource brings together representative masterworks of twentieth-century art from the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and wide-ranging ideas for their presentation to students. Included are a looseleaf binder in which thirty-one paintings are reproduced in full color along with notes about the work and strategies for discussion, writings by selected artists and selected related poetry, a chronology of events of the twentieth century, and suggestions for further reading. The binder also contains forty slides and a poster for classroom use. The resource includes a CD-ROM version of the binder material and one related video. The resource kit is suitable for students of all levels, from elementary school to high school, and can be enjoyed by individuals as well. The Metropolitan Museum of Art's teacher-training programs and accompanying materials are made possible, in part, through a generous grant from Mr. and Mrs. Frederick P. Rose. |
