Synopsis: |
The Book of Concord contains confessions which Christians from the fourth to the 16th century A.D. explained what they believed and taught the basis of the Holy Scriptures. It includes, the three creeds which originated in the ancient church, the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. It also contains the writings of the Lutheran Reformation known as the Augsburg Confession, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, Luther's Small Catechism, Luther's Large Catechisms, and the Formula of Concord. These confessions are not an addition to Holy Scripture but an explanation of the doctrine contained in Holy Scripture. All proceeds go towards the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, a chairity that equips Lutherans around the world with Lutheran books. |
