On a small stretch of coast, five clapboard houses gazing out to sea are visited by the same group of families every year. When May arrives at the beach for the summer, she is on the brink of womanhood. No longer a child, but not yet as confident as her sister, she feels only the sexual tension between those around her. But when May discovers the diary of a dead girl, she feels she is destined to follow in the dead girl's footsteps... |
