Synopsis: "This book", says the author, "wrote itself - it was no effort". Set out like a theatre programme, with Prologue, Action, Finale and Curtain Calls, these are lively, often funny and sometimes poignant accounts of Sara's conversations (and occasionally hair-raising escapades) with her beloved rescue dog, a lurcher called Sati. Sara describes her chequered history with dogs of various personalities before Sati walked into her life. She recounts her adventures with Sati and shares their thoughts and dialogues right up to the present day. Every word is true; Annette Crosbie, famous champion of rescue greyhounds, describes it as a "charming book - a must-read for any of us who have shared our lives with a dog". With colour photographs, and a series of exquisitely amusing line drawings by dog-adoring professional illustrator and animal cartoonist Ali Wylie, this is the perfect gift for any dog lover - whether or not they listen to The Archers! Sara Coward is best known to millions of BBC Radio 4 listeners as Caroline Sterling in The Archers. Over the years, Caroline's colourful career has attracted labels from "the thinking man's totty" to "the Ambridge bike"!Caroline has appeared in episodes with Princess Margaret, The Duke of Westminster and recently Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. A professional actor since she left university, Sara has worked extensively in theatres throughout the UK and is currently touring Wicked Women - a celebration of outrageous womanhood - with Sunny Ormonde, the famous voice of Lilian Bellamy. Sara also records audio books and film narratives, presents popular after-dinner entertainments and makes the occasional foray into TV. She has often been asked to write scripts; this is the first time she has succumbed, simply because her conversations with Sati, her beloved rescue dog, took on a life of their own.
