Synopsis: |
In early spring 1995, piracy on the high seas was becoming as prevalent as in the days of the Spanish galleon. In several ocean black spots, not only cargoes but whole ships were disappearing, complete with their crews. One of the worst-affected areas was the South China Sea, and as part of an international campaign to stem the rising crime wave an SBS team was dispatched to Singapore. Days later the four men were playing hide-and-seek across the tropical seas with as ruthless a band of cut-throats as ever raised the skull and crossbones, and picking up a trail which led them north towards Hong Kong.Meanwhile, as 1997 and the Communist Chinese takeover loomed for the British colony, Inspector Rosalie Kai was investigating a barbaric cross-border trade in unwanted female babies. Soon both she and the SBS team found themselves up against a criminal organization that stretched from one end of the South China Sea to the other.Marine G SBS: China Seas follows them through the underworld jungle, pitting Poole's finest against foes as diverse as rogue elements of the Indonesian Army, corrupt policemen on both sides of the Bamboo Curtain, and the foot soldiers of the new high-tech Triads. |
