This is the first in a series of pictorial volumes using images taken by U.S. Navy photographers with unparalleled access to facilities and aircraft around the world. These photographers document all aspects of operations in peace and war with photos taken in the air, aboard ship, and at bases worldwide. This book covers U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard aircraft. This volume includes combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, humanitarian missions around the world, training exercises with other nations, aerial refuelling, aircraft and weapons testing and maintenance operations. The vast majority of these photographs are were taken during actual operations conducted in 2006.All types of U.S. Naval aircraft are covered, including F-14 and F/A-18 fighters, Harrier attack aircraft, P-3 and S-3 antisubmarine aircraft,AH-1, CH-53, CH-46, and H-60 helicopters, plus a variety of unmanned aerial vehicles and a host of others.
