This report provides the most current financial, operations, and productivity benchmark data about pediatric practices in the United States. Reported measures include practice revenue, expense, staffing, payroll, patient volume, payor mix, capacity, and other key operational characteristics by type of practice. Regional data is provided on select measures where available. Some data highlights include the following: Annual Number of Patient Visits, per FTE (full-time equivalent) Physician; Proportion of Revenue from Self-insured Patients, Private or Public Insurance; Total Practice Expense and Revenue; Practice Expense and Medical Revenue per FTE Physician; Annual Number of Patient Visits, per FTE Physician; Medical Revenue per Patient Visit; Employee and Contractor Physician Compensation; and, Non-physician Staff Compensation. This report is compiled from results of the AAP Socioeconomic Survey of Pediatric Practices, which was mailed to a random sample of 10,000 members of the American Academy of Pediatrics between December 2007 and June 2008. Findings in this report represent data provided by approximately 3,000 members of the AAP who participated in the Survey. |
