Originally communities that sprang up along Ermin Street, the Roman road connecting Cirencester and Gloucester, each village was greatly boosted by the arrival of the aircraft industry and in particular the Gloster Aircraft Company. In April 1941, the first jet-propelled flight left the ground between Hucclecote and Brockworth, thus cementing the region's place in history. Also described in detail are the people, businesses and local transport of this beautiful area.
