Nev is a bright spark. He may be uncouth, unqualified and a womanizing wildcat, but he's also the greatest post-production engineer in the music business. Dmitri is an oddball. Reclusive, geeky and lacking social graces, he also happens to be a whiz-kid prodigy on a philanthropic mission to push the boundaries of medical science. Between them, these two unlikely compatriots set off a remarkable chain of events that trigger an extraordinary revolution in digital technology: Sound Bytes. When they take any original audio recording and feed it through the Sound Bytes equipment it miraculously matches up the soundtrack with its corresponding imagery. For Nev, the potential is enormous, and in no time Sound Bytes becomes a global multimedia phenomenon, making its inventors and the staff of Magus Studios rich beyond their dreams. However, when Sound Bytes is used to restore the original footage to a series of lost Hitler tapes, the true consequences of this breakthrough technology becomes all too apparent.
