Die "Klosterneuburger Schlaganfall-Datenbank" zeigt die Bedeutung eines prospektiven Registers von Schlaganfallpatienten fur Klinik und Forschung. In einer fallkontrollierten Studie wird das Risikoprofil des zerebralen Insults untersucht und das unterschiedlich hohe relative Risiko einzelner kardialer und vaskularer Faktoren erhoben. Als wichtigstes klinisches Kriterium des Insults wird die Atiologie angesehen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass bei routinemassiger Anwendung von Computertomographie und Neurosonologie lediglich zwei von drei Schlaganfallen atiologisch geklart werden konnen. Von allen atiologischen Subtypen des Insults haben lakunare Infarkte die beste Prognose." |
