| Synopsis: |
The codes of conduct included were collected between 1997 and 1999 from multinational enterprises, workers' organizations, industry associations, governments and NGOs. In this unique study they are compared to the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (1977) the only internationally agreed set of principles in the labour and social field. Similarities exist between many codes of multinational enterprises, but these do not always correspond to the recommendations of the ILO Tripartite Declaration. Users of this CD-ROM can search the labour and employment provisions of the codes and read sectoral analyses of their normative contents and current developments in each sector. |
