Reference only in passing will be made to applications for on licences which are made in the Circuit Court which are governed by statute and the Rules of the Circuit Court 2001. Under each chapter heading where appropriate, the relevant practice and procedure will be discussed. At the time of writing, the proposed legislation consolidating the seventy odd licensing statutes has been produced in bill form, but is not expected to become law until (according to officials in the Department of Justice) sometime in 2007 many of the general principles which presently apply will, continue to have relevance.The contents include: Solicitor's duty to client and professional negligence; Licensed premises - licensee and customer; Trading hours; The District Court; The Fire officer; Application for off-licence; Application for transfer of licence; Application for special exemption orders; Annual licensing; Offences - Endorsable; Offences - Temporary closure; Retail licences; and Wholesale licences.
