| Description: |
A collection of five low-budget horror films. 'Braindead' (1992) is a gory comedy-horror directed by Peter Jackson. 25-year-old Lionel Cosgrove (Timothy Balme) has never even kissed a girl, and so is excited when the lovely Paquita (Diana Penalver), a Spanish girl who works in the corner shop, arranges a nocturnal tryst with him in the zoo. Unfortunately, Lionel's over-possessive mother, spying on them from the bushes, is bitten by a Sumatran monkey rat, and soon develops a craving for raw meat. Upon learning of this, Lionel tries to warn his new love of his mother's strange cannibalistic habits before it is too late. 'Dead End Road' (2004) stars Bill Vincent as detective Burt Williams, who has been on the trail of the infamous Poe Killer for nearly three years. The most recent abduction, of fashion model Heather Makepiece (Ambre Lake), prompts state authorities to bring in the FBI. Burt's daughter Kris Williams (Anita LaSelva), a homicide agent for the FBI, takes over along with her partner Sean Michaels (Bonner C Upshaw III), and Burt reluctantly steps down from the case and retires. For the next seven months the Poe Killer continues his murderous rampage - until Kris discovers that the killer is using internet chat rooms to seduce his prey. She logs in as Annabel Lee and sure enough, he contacts her. With the help of Larry the tech guy (Robert Leeshock), she sets up a meeting at a nearby bowling alley. Things go terribly wrong when Kris is abducted and her partner Sean is slaughtered, and it becomes a race against time for Burt and his ex-partner Grace Andrews (Spice Williams) to find Kris before she becomes the next victim of the Poe Killer... 'Revolting Dead' (2003) is a gruesome tale of life, death, love, and revenge from beyond the grave. In the rural desert town of Tehachapi Flats, the local funeral home is operated by the Crain family. When the family's extra-curricular activities disturb the grave of the late Jonathan Drue, a powerful Druid priest, his priestess sister uses the family powers to raise the dead and help those who have been disturbed to personally thank the people responsible. In 'Near Death' (2004), a team of parapsychologists travel to the haunted Hollywood estate of German film director Willi von Bram, who in 1947 had an affair with his maid and violently killed her and himself. But the scientists' probing angers the flesh-eating ghouls inside the mansion, and unspeakable acts of cannibalism ensue... Finally, in 'Deadfall' (2000), four students spending a weekend in a small house in the woods reawaken a dark supernatural force that has been locked up for over 500 years. Cut off from any help, the students are forced to battle the evil force before it takes over and kills them. |
