Description: |
Collection of four 'Terminator' films. 'The Terminator' (1984) is James Cameron's much-imitated sci-fi classic. A humanoid cyborg( Arnold Schwarzenegger) from a future dominated by machines is sent back in time to kill the mother (Linda Hamilton) of the as-yet-unborn rebel leader John Connor. Meanwhile, the rebels also select an agent (Michael Biehn) to travel back in time and stop the Terminator, thereby ensuring that events follow their pre-ordained course. In 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' (1991) young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of a human rebellion in a machine-dominated world, is under threat from the new T-1000 Terminator (Robert Patrick) - an improved, virtually unkillable model. The adult John sends a copy of the original Terminator (Schwarzenegger) back in time, this time to protect the boy and his mother, Sarah (Hamilton). As the battle of the behemoths begins, those on the side of good realise that they can alter the future enough to stop the slaughter on 'Judgement Day' when the computers commenced Armageddon. 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' (2003) set ten years on from the last sequel finds John Connor (Nick Stahl) living on the streets and his mother, Sarah, long since dead. Their efforts to prevent Judgement Day were futile, although Connor does not know this, and once again he is the target of Terminators from the future. This time his enemy is female (Kristianna Loken) and even more powerful than her predecessors. However, the resistance sends another robot (Schwarzenegger) back from the future to help keep Connor and his future wife, alive. 'Terminator Salvation' (2009) is set in 2018 in a post-apocalyptic world where the human race is at war with Skynet and its army of deadly Terminators. John Connor (Christian Bale) is a young soldier who is destined to become the leader of the human resistance. However, he is forced to question his certainty about the future when a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) suddenly appears, and John must decide whether he has been sent from the past or the future. As Skynet grows more and more powerful and all hope for the human race looks like being eliminated in one final devastating attack, John and Marcus journey to the centre of Skynet's operations where they discover a shocking secret... |
