Synopsis: |
The Review Bodys remit for 2013/14 given by the UK Government based on its public sector pay policy which limits pay uplifts to an average of one percent. The Devolved Administration in Wales and Northern Ireland sought no variation from this remit but separate pay proposals have been made by the Scottish Government. The Body remains concerned the remit was conditioned by the UK Government's approach to public sector pay and in the last 2 reports has commented on the importance of their independent process, A constrained remit from the UK Government may limit the scope of the evidence recieved from all parties and so reducing the Body's ability to produce recommendations drawing on the widest evidence base. The Body also commented its 2012 visits, NHS reforms, Pensions, legal obligations on the NHS. The Review Body's report was also influenced by a number of themes: delivering transformation change, comprehensive staff engagement strategies, an effective AfC framework and pay remit. |
