Synopsis: |
The Health Protection Agency was created in April 2003 as a special health authority in England and Wales, to provide better protection against infectious diseases and other dangers to public health, including chemical hazards, poisons and radiation. In April 2005, it became a UK-wide body, when it merged with the National Radiological Protection Board to form a comprehensive health protection service. This is the Agency's third annual report and accounts which covers the financial year 2005-06. |
