"The Civil Service Yearbook" offers a picture of the size, shape and structure of central government. It lists all government departments, together with their executive agencies and provides information on all the main areas of government activity. The Yearbook contains extracts from the annual survey, Civil Service Statistics, information on the government's initiatives on openness and Freedom of Information, purchasing and market testing contacts, details of salary structures and a subject index. Included in this edition is a CD-ROM and a password providing access to an updated civil service website. The yearbook also provides amendments to the Ministerial List and other departmental personnel since the General Election of 1 May 1997. Information on access to Government information under the 1994 Code of Practice is given. |
