Synopsis: |
The impact of labour migration at household level is the central theme of the studies presented here. To assess this and determine the factors contributing to the success or failure of the household in coping with migration, in-depth, open-ended interviews were conducted in 50 households in seven Asian countries. Economic performance, quality of life, family adjustment, intrafamily relations and community relations were the evaluation criteria in this micro-level study of labour migration and its effects. |
