This book provides a timely overview and reappraisal of international security in the 1990s. Written nearly a decade after the end of the Cold War, the book is one of the first major attempts to distinguish between what is unique and what is perennial in the current security setting. Following the editor's introduction, three contributors analyze the military implications of a new international order.
