Description: |
A training course for professionals who work with parents and young children. The course covers infants aged up to five years. It aims to establish a practical knowledge of management methods for use with young children and to provide training in how these methods can be transmitted to parents. |
Synopsis: |
"Professionals and Parents" is a course designed for any professional group who may be asked by parents for advice and help in dealing with managing infant behaviour problems at home and for residential professionals who care for infants. Thus it should be useful to health visitors, field and residential social workers, nursery nurses, playgroup organizers, students in training, school nurses, child guidance workers, educational welfare officers and psychologists and nursery teachers. The subject matter of the course is infants aged up to five years. The overall aim is to establish a practical knowledge of management methods for use with young children who present behaviour/management problems and to provide training in how these methods can be transmitted to the primary managers - parents. The course contains five parts. The first four parts represent the goals of the course and each goal is subserved by a set of smaller-step objectives. The fifth part provides an opportunity to put these to the test. |
