Synopsis: |
This book is a collaboration between Lebanese photographer Hanan Kazma and American poet Richard Leach, presenting twenty-three of Kazma's photographs and twenty-one of Leach's poems inspired by her work. Kazma's imaginative, expressive photography ranges across urban landscapes and into private, personal spaces. Unlike Things Must Meet includes some of her most striking self-portraits. Leach's poems in response comprise sonnets, acrostics, song lyrics, metered and free verse. Leach and Kazma met within the online arts community deviantART; Kazma's work is found at partiallyhere.deviantart.com, and Leach's at tinkwig.deviantart.com. Unlike Things Must Meet concludes with the Herman Melville poem "Art", from which the book takes its title. |
