Synopsis: |
Most church congregations know the hymns Teach me my God and King and Let all the world in every corner sing. George Herbert, Rector of Fugglestone with Bemerton from 1630-1633, wrote these words and over 160 other poems. Another Music provides a unique collection, setting to music as hymns a number of Herbert's lesser known poems, covering aspects of the Church's Year. The music specially composed for this collection has been provided by musicians with a special connection to the Salisbury area, including Barry Ferguson, David Halls, Edmund Hampton, Simon Lole, Howard Moody, Alec Roth and Richard Shephard. They provide music in a wide variety of styles, enhancing Herbert's words and bringing his poems to a fresh audience. |
