Lorenzo Fioramonti rethinks traditional conceptualizations of civil society, defining it as an 'arena' offering a spatial configuration between the state, the market and the family. He argues that civil society is a fundamentally dynamic and continuously evolving phenomenon that cannot be encapsulated into pre-concieved categories.
