They emigrated all across the globe, to Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Oslo, Vienna, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Mexico, Jerusalem, Moscow. Often distrusted as Germans in the countries they arrived in, they struggled to survive - and some committed suicide in despair.
