Synopsis: |
This is the first book on veterans' entitlements law in Australia. The only other comprehensive treatment of this topic was the Independent Enquiry into the Repatriation System by the Hon Mr Justice Toose. The Toose report was published in 1975 and is no longer in print and there have been many changes to the system since then. For ease of reference, the material is arranged in the order in which it appears in the principal legislation - the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 - and should be read in conjunction with that Act. Here then, for the first time, is the law for Australian veterans, compiled by Robin Creyke, a senior academic at the ANU and consultant to Phillips Fox, Solicitors, who has been Veterans' Affairs editor for Butterworths since 1985, and Peter Sutherland, an editor and co-author of the major comparable texts on social security law workers' compensation law. |
