Synopsis: |
This publication sets out the results of studies conducted between 2001 and 2003 in six countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region (the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Peru) in order to examines health exclusion issues. Health exclusion is defined at the lack of access of certain groups or people to various goods, services and opportunities that improve or preserve health status enjoyed by others in society; and therefore is an issue that transcends the health sector. The study forms part of a joint initiative between the Pan American Health Organization and the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency. |
