Malcolm McDowell plays notorious Russian serial killer Andrej Romanovic Evilenko, based on the real-life murderer Andrei Chikatilo, in this psychological horror. Murdering and eating more than 50 children in the course of his horrific career, capturing the killer soon becomes the authorities' highest priority in the final days of the collapsing USSR. As Detective Lesiev (Marton Csokas) tries to hunt the killer down, he is assisted by psychological profiler Aron Richter (Ronald Pickup), who tries to get inside the mind of the deranged murderer. Meanwhile, Evilenko continues his reign of fear, distraught at the crumbling of his precious Soviet Union. |
