| Description: |
Howard Stern, American talk show host and 'shock jock', plays himself in this account of his rags-to-riches life story. Growing up as a geeky Jew in a tough black neighbourhood, Stern opts for performance as an escape from his overpowering parents. After putting on obscene puppet shows, he progresses to studying radio engineering at college in Boston, where he meets his wife-to-be Alison. After making an experimental film, Stern becomes a disc jockey, eventually joining NBC where he shocks his bosses and would-be censors with his on-air obscenity and insubordination. |
