Description: |
1962. Calvin Webber (Christopher Walken) is a brilliant scientist who has built a self-sufficient bunker in his suburban home. When a plane crashes nearby he mistakes the roar for a nuclear attack and flees to the bunker with his pregnant wife (Sissy Spacek). Their son Adam (Brendan Fraser) is born in the time-locked bunker and spends the first thirty-five years of his life oblivious to the progress of time outside his shelter. When he is finally released he bumps straight into Eve (Alicia Silverstone), a young but already cynical inhabitant of 1990s L.A. Having had a string of no-hoper boyfriends, dead-end jobs and broken dreams, Eve is pleasantly surprised by Adam's wide-eyed naiveity and the couple find themselves falling in love. |
