Description: |
Double bill of films from director Frank Borzage. In 'Seventh Heaven' (1927), Paris street cleaner Chico (Charles Farrell) steps in to rescue prostitute Diane (Janet Gaynor) from the wrath of her sister. When the police subsequently arrive to arrest her, Chico pretends they are both married. Having to keep up the pretense or face jail, Chico allows Diane to live with him, which in turn leads to romance blossoming. In 'Street Angel (1928), prostitute Angela (Gaynor) has to flee Naples when she steals medicine for her dying mother. Taken in by a passing circus, she meets and falls in love with Gino (Charles Farrell), a painter. Later, when Gino decides he wants to live in Naples, Angela has to decide whether she should tell her new love about her secret past life. |
