Description: |
A six-episode best-of collection from the popular '70s sitcom featuring feuding multi-ethnic neighbours. Eddie Booth (Jack Smethurst), white bigot conservative and proud of it, lives next door to Bill (Rudolph Walker), a black, left wing, free-thinking Jamaican. At the time, the show highlighted what was a national issue but its bare-faced use of racial epithets and slurs on both sides render it a quaint period piece in these days of political correctness. Eddie and Bill do daily battle as their suffering wives Joan (Kate Williams) and Barbie (Nina Baden-Semper) who get along very well, look on in dismay. |
