Description: |
Triple pack of animal based films. In 'Evan Almighty' (2007), the sequel to 'Bruce Almighty', ex-newscaster Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) is elected to congress, relocates his family to northern Virginia and prepares for the good life. But his new life is turned upside down when God (Morgan Freeman) tells him that a flood of biblical proportions is on the way, and that he has to build an ark, Noah style. At first sceptical, Evan gradually accepts his appointed task, drawing media attention with his rapidly changing appearance. With a colossal structure taking shape in the back yard, Evan's family don't know whether he's just having a mid-life crisis, or whether it truly is a case of sink or swim. 'Buddy' (1997), is based on the true story of Gertrude 'Trudy' Lintz (Rene Russo), an eccentric socialite who, with her husband Bill (Robbie Coltrane) and assistant Dick (Alan Cumming), delights in sharing her home with a bunch of apes and monkeys. Trudy's favourite is Buddy, a cheeky gorilla who gets himself into all sorts of scrapes. Finally, in 'Magic In The Water' (1995), a lakeside holiday brings young Ashley (Sarah Wayne) into contact with Orky, a cookie-loving sea monster whose magical intervention brings her family closer together. However, Orky's life is endangered by wicked, environmentally unfriendly industrialists who want to use the lake as a chemical dumping ground, so Ashley, brother Josh (Joshua Jackson) and her sceptical father (Mark Harmon) step in to protect him. |
