Oscar-nominated comedy from the popular writing-acting team of Jean-Pierre Bacri and Agnès Jaoui. Businessman Jacques Castella (Bacri) has fallen in love with his English tutor, actress Clara Devaux (Anne Alvaro), and finds himself genuinely moved when he sees her perform Racine at the local theatre. Eager to impress her, Jacques starts meeting with Clara's aesthete friends, but finds his lack of artistic knowledge puts him at a constant disadvantage. Meanwhile, Jacques' bodyguard Franck Moreno (Gérard Lanvin) begins a relationship with bartender Manie (Jaoui), but is uncomfortable about her selling drugs. |
