Box set containing two popular comedy dramas. Jennifer Lopez stars in 'The Wedding Planner' (2001) as Mary Fiore, a successful wedding planner whose creative ideas make her clients' weddings a dream come true. She is unlucky in love and is desperate to meet the perfect man, before it is too late. When she meets Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey) Mary is instantly smitten. But there is one problem, he is about to get married and his wife-to-be wants her to organise the wedding. This causes problems as the more time she spends with her clients organising their big day, the more she falls in love with the groom. 'Suzie Gold' (2004) is a light-hearted romantic comedy set in North London, starring Summer Phoenix as 20-something Jewish London girl Suzie Gold. Suzie finds herself torn between Anthony (Iddo Goldberg), the nice Jewish boy with a good job that her family approves of, and Darren (Leo Gregory), her non-Jewish boyfriend. Suzie's relationship with Darren comes to an end when she finds herself unable to take him home to meet her family, worried that he won't match up to their expectations. As the pressure builds for Suzie to tie the knot with Anthony, and she can't get Darren out of her mind, Suzie begins to question her role in life, and has to re-define herself outside her family and the traditions that have always been an integral part of her life. |
