Film noir meets black comedy in this British effort from director Jim Groom. Paul Herzerg stars as Connor, a hired hitman with obsessive compulsive disorder who is waiting in room 38 of a sleazy Paddington hotel to meet female MP Helen Woods (Paula Booroff), with the intention of blackmailing her over a set of implicating photographs. Meanwhile, in room 36, an obese travelling salesman with a penchant for wearing women's underwear (Frank Scantori) is waiting for a prostitute. Mayhem ensues when the number on the door of room 38 is damaged by a warring pair of newlyweds, and the prostitute ends up in the wrong room... |
