| Synopsis: |
The School Teachers' Review Body makes recommendations for the level of pay and conditions of employment for teachers in England and Wales. Recommendations include: a 2.5 per cent increase from September 2006 and a further 2.5 per cent increase from September 2007 for the main and upper pay scales for qualified teachers, for the leadership group pay scale, for unqualified teachers, and the new 18 point pay scale for advanced skills teachers. Other recommendations relate to: the excellent teacher scheme (ETS), teaching and learning responsibility (TLR) payments, special educational needs (SEN) allowances, teachers' professional development and pay progression, and teachers' professional responsibilities. |
