Nel 1837 si trasferisce a Torino la poetessa fiorentina Nina Olivetti, amica di Quirina Mocenni Magiotti, una delle amanti di Foscolo che Pellico aveva conosciuto nel 1816 e con cui ha avuto un rapporto epistolare durato trent'anni, fatto di lettere affettuose e di un rapporto al limite tra amicizia ed amore. Inizialmente emarginata dalla vita mondana per le sua origine ebraica la Olivetti diviene in seguito amica sia della famiglia D'Azeglio sia della marchesa Giulia Falletti di Barolo. Silvio Pellico apprezza i versi della Olivetti, ma sa anche essere franco nel criticare il componimento Addio ai piemontesi che la poetessa scrive nel 1845 prima di lasciare Torino per trasferirsi in Francia. |
